Equivalent Comparison of EC Menu
Today, we will share the specs of admitted students from Harvard and UCLA.
When looking at the activities or specs of admitted students, other consulting academies open each student’s specs and say which university this student was admitted to. If you look at each student’s activity list or specs separately, it’s true that each of these activities looks good. The regrettable point when looking at the specs of admitted students in this way is that it’s hard to make an equivalent comparison of each activity. So, at our A-One Institute, we will look at the specs of admitted students together by creating a list called “EC Activity Menu” by area. Once you create the entire EC menu, you can easily see what activities the admitted students did and make an equivalent comparison of the specs among various students.
The EC menu by area can be divided as follows:
• Science / Math field
• English / Social field
• Summer Camp field
• Computer Science related field
• In-school EC
• Other Music / Sports/ Art
We will look at what activities the admitted students from Harvard and UCLA did in this EC menu.
MIT Admitted Student - STEM
The activities of the MIT admitted student who scored 1540 on the SAT are the following Green color activities.
Let’s look together.
• EC menu of Math/ Science area
The activities that the MIT admitted student did here are AMC, AIME, Affiliated Science Fair, ISEF. AIME and ISEF activities stand out.
• Summer Camp menu
Since the MIT admitted student was a student in New Jersey, he could participate in the Columbia Science Honors Program, CSHP, CSHP.
• EC menu of English/ Social area
The activities that the MIT admitted student did were John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest, and Scholastic Art and Writing, and although the JFK Essay Contest was not a big prize, he won.
• In-school activity EC menu
The in-school activities that the MIT admitted student did were Student Council (Ambassador), and Honor Society, and he did Orchestra activities and Community Service teaching students. If you look at all the EC activities in one screen, it looks like this.
UCLA Admitted Student - Non-STEM
The next student you will see is a Non-STEM major student with a SAT score of 1460 and was admitted to UCLA. Since he was a Non-STEM major student, there were no upper concept EC or awards in the Math / Science area, and in the EC of the English / Social area, there is a Scholastic Arts and Writing activity with 10 awards. There is an activity where he won an award in art at the Young Arts-National Arts Competition. In the Computer Science related EC, he won the Congressional App Challenge, and what was special was that there was Foreign Language. In-school EC activities are composed of Honor Society, Band, School Magazine, Community Service, etc. It would be good to look at the activities that this student did in the entire EC board while making an equivalent comparison.
We, at A-One Institute, hope that you can get a little closer to admission to top US universities through the EC menu we have created by area.
Thank you.
