Tips for making social activities a powerful EC

Today, I will talk about social activities, “Contribution to Society”, among EC activity activities. There will be students around you who are doing various social activities, and I will give you tips to make that activity a powerful EC.

There must be at least one student around you who is doing social activities, Contributing to Society, according to social issues, right? Will these students who make social activities their EC receive satisfactory results when they enter college?

Although they receive attention by doing activities based on things that have become social issues, there is a reason for students who are not satisfied with the results. They have clearly overlooked things. That is “Research”.

Colleges like acting intellect. I said they like acting intellectually, not acting humans. They like students who act after being intellectually equipped, not just students who act indiscriminately. Therefore, it is important to contribute to society while doing research.

I will explain one topic as an example. Let’s say you do some social activity on the social issue that plastic bags are the cause of environmental pollution.

Do you know what International Plastic Bag Free Day is and what day it is? That day is July 3rd, and on this day, it is a movement to not use Plastic Bag, even for a day. Let’s say a student who is immersed in the topic that plastic use is the main culprit of environmental pollution gathers students, creates a group, makes a club that campaigns not to use plastic, submits a petition to the House, makes that topic an issue, and then bans the use of plastic bags in that neighborhood. Would this student’s college admission decision have been good? Probably not. This student has something important that a student who just precedes social activities has not done. It’s research! What if you did the same social activity through the research process explained below? How to make social activities a hook - Research

Current issue background explanation research

If that student really wants to appear as an acting intellect, it would be good to explain the background of starting to use plastic bags. Until the 1950s, paper bags were used in Europe, and because paper bags were not durable and trees had to be cut down to make them, they were connected to environmental problems, as a result, Swedish scientist Gustaf Thulin made plastic bags in order to protect the environment. It was the beginning. The reason why plastic bags were made, and the time to use such plastic is just 12 minutes of research. The time it takes for a plastic bag to decompose completely is 20-50 years. When incinerated, dioxins are generated and become the main culprit of environmental pollution, and if marine life accidentally eats it, it dies of malnutrition, etc. It is important to do social activities and research the background of current issues.

Expanded issue problem research

After the background, the expanded problems due to the plastic problem are investigated. As plastic decomposes and becomes smaller as microparticles, eventually humans who use plastic consume 5 grams of microplastic per week, etc.

Overall impact related to problem research

The last attitude to have while researching is to investigate the overall impact related to the problem. If it’s a topic related to plastic bags, it would be good to have your own conclusion about what kind of impact plastic has on the human body and the environment by investigating the contents of the paper published by the professor and CEO of a social organization at Carnegie Mellon University.

Connection of conclusions through research and meaningful activities

After doing research through the above process, it is important to become an acting intellect based on that research. Then you will be evaluated as a student with the ideal student image that colleges like.

When doing social contribution, Contribution to Society activities, it is good to start social activities based on your own results after sufficient research. Since these activities often differ in college admissions, the possibility of entering a good school will also increase.

Today, I talked about contributing and doing social activities based on the conclusion obtained through sufficient research, not just indiscriminately doing social activity activities. Rather than starting social activities indiscriminately, I recommend you do research.

Thank you.
